STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe all scripture was given by inspiration of God (2 Tim.3:16). We hold to the Authorized Version (King James) is the preserved, inerrant Word of God in the English language. We lift up the Word of God as our final authority (Ps.138:2).
2. We believe salvation is a gift of God, received by grace through faith. Based on Romans 10:9, the means for receiving the gift of eternal life is by accepting Jesus Christ as one’s Lord and Savior, and by believing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that he died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again from the third day proving His deity
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Rom. 1:3-4).
3. WE believe in the eternal security of the believer. After receiving Jesus Christ, the believer is sealed by the Holy Spirit of God (Eph.1:13-14) and cannot lose his or her salvation (Rom.8:38-39).
4. We believe the Christian has the ability to communicate directly to the Lord God without any human mediator (1 Tim.2:5). It is through prayer that the believer reveals his or her faith and trust in God (Php.4:6).
5. We believe in the Holy Trinity. The Godhead is made up of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (2 Cor.13:14; 1 John 5:7).
6. We believe the local church is God’s instrument in this age. The purpose of the local church is to prepare the members to participate in ministry and to propagate the mission (Eph. 4:12). We believe the local the local church is autonomous in that it is self-governing, self-supporting and self-propagating under the clear instruction of the apostle Paul for believers in this age (Gal.2:7-9).
7. We believe that baptism is an opportunity for the believer to give a public testimony of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, being an illustration of the gospel that they already received (Acts 16:32-33). We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an opportunity for the believer to remember what the Lord did for him or her in sacrificing Himself on the cross for our sins (1 Cor.11:23-26). We do not believe that these tools of God are ordinances or sacraments that have saving or sanctifying power.
8. We believe that every Christian is a steward of what the Lord has entrusted to him or her. Thus, every believer determines before God how much he or she gives for the work of the ministry through personal offering (2 Cor.9:7).
9. We believe that every Christian is an ambassador for the Lord. Every believer has the responsibility to minister the truth of the gospel of grace to those that do not know the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Cor.5:18-20).
10. We believe that every Christian will give an account before God at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor.5:10). We will be judged for our works and receive rewards or suffer loss accordingly (1 Cor.3:11-15).
